What do we think when we think of the edgy side of the 90’s, ripped jeans, leather, studded belts, fish net tights, converse, high studded boots.
Connecting to my early teen years, we all went through certain fashion ‘phases’, I remember the very early days I thought I was cool with my black studded belt I convinced dad to buy, listening to Paramore and adding pink and blue extensions to my hair. Embarassing but the innocence, confidence and desire to find out what my style was, I will never regret.
The trend of layering fishnets under jeans has made a comeback and I love it! Topshop is one of my all time favourite high street stores and the only place I purchase jeans from. It was a no brainer to style this outfit with nothing other than my my MOM jeans I purchased a while ago (here’s a secret I accidentally put my whole foot through BOTH the jean holes! Oops).
The Leather jacket well known for it’s association with the punks and the bikers makes the most perfect throw on for this outfit creating a bad – ass aesthetic.
I’ve also chosen to layer the fishnet on top with the Misspap Sakina crop and with one of their lace bralet’s underneath. I’m extremely happy with the quality of this, let’s be straight up, we all know what it can be like buying from online shops sometimes but hands down I’m purchasing more items from here.
Converse are the brand I always forget about but perfect to add a little casual coolness to your 90’s inspired look. They’re traditional, comfy and practical.
